Jackie's Story
Jackie the garbage Wombat
Jackie a blue heeler cross from California, who was found after a fire with TJ, another Blue Heeler. Jackie had spent over a year in shelters before she found us, and we are so happy she did.
Jackie was a cute small heeler cross I’d ever seen. She and TJ were quite attached, although Jackie less than TJ. Its always the guys that just can’t let go! She needed a diet, some space from TJ (she was ready to conquer the world on her own), and some rules and boundaries. After a few weeks of behaviour modification training Jackie was ready to go to her new home, and she found the perfect home.
“On March 1st 2021, my partner and I adopted a red heeler from Pucas Pack rescue. Xicalli is incredibly informed and takes the time to explain her rationality behind her training techniques. As someone who grew up with a lot of dogs I realized after working with Xicalli the multiple misconceptions surrounding how many people are taught how to take care of their dogs, resulting in multiple behaviour problems including separation anxiety, running away, excessive barking and aggression. Jackie is by far the greatest dog I have ever adopted and I attribute it to Xicalli's training techniques which allowed me to empathize with the needs of the dog opposed to an extension of what I would like for my own care. Jackie is incredibly secure and stable in her environment despite previous dog aggression and due to Xicalli's training advice we can take her confidently off leash and Jackie has complete trust in both my partner and I to take care of her and to lead the pack. I have recommended Pucas Pack to countless people as she really gives a lot of dogs whose previous owners had failed them a second chance. Xicalli is incredibly informed and a wonderful trainer who really is doing amazing work.”
