Adopting
Adopting a pet is huge responsibility, this is a commitment to take care of another life for upwards of 18 years. Please make sure you are ready for this before filling out an adoption application.
Here at Puca’s Pack we work with each dog, for at least 3 weeks, before adopting them out. We take our time to find out their behaviour issues and do our best to revert those behaviours. Our certified Dog Psychology and Behaviour Modification specialist works with our dogs until we feel they are fit for a new home. Each dog gets daily exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of obedience training. We work on boundaries to insure the dogs have a good understanding of what is expected of them before they leave our home.
On the day of adoption, one of our team members will walk you through the basic training and commands we use with your new dog to insure you have the best chance for success. This day will consist of 1-6 hours (depends on the dog) of training methods used on your dog, success and failure stories, introducing the dog to your house and family, multiple structured walks, and much more. We will go our separate ways once everyone feels comfortable.
Puca’s Pack is committed to our dogs and encourage all adopters to stay in contact with us. We are here to help you work through training issues that may arise after adoption. We will do everything we can to help you and your furry friend live a happy life together.
Should the adoption not work out, we require, as per the signed Adoption Agreement, that the dog be returned Puca’s Pack. However, we do expect that anyone who adopts one of our animals is willing to work through any behaviour issues that arise (within reason). Our help and support is always available to you for the life of your dog.
Name: Tonka

A little bit about me:
Tonka is a 4-year-old rescue with a heart full of love and a journey that deserves a happy ending. He’s one of seven dogs rescued from a high-kill shelter in California, who then spent years on a property in British Columbia, waiting for a chance at a forever home. While they weren’t unhappy, these dogs lived in a small pack without the socialization or opportunities to experience life as cherished family members. Misunderstood and labeled as "feral" or "lost causes," they’ve been overlooked for far too long.
When Tonka first arrived with us, he was overwhelmed but still open to connection. By the third day, he began trusting me, joining pack walks, and seeking cuddles. However, his past has left him with insecurities, especially around being leashed. Once on a leash, he thrives—tail wagging, eager to explore, and showing incredible potential. But the process of getting leashed leaves him feeling vulnerable, causing him to act out in fear.
Tonka needs a confident and patient adopter who’s willing to help him work through his insecurities. He’d do best in a home with another dog, as he feeds off their energy and adores having canine friends. His future family must understand that while he’s bursting with love, the first few days will require patience and structure. A muzzle might help initially for your confidence and his safety, but with clear expectations and consistent guidance, Tonka will come to trust you as much as he trusts me.
Despite his rough beginnings, Tonka craves connection. He greets me with excitement, tail wagging, and a longing to be close. He loves pack walks, cuddles, and attention but needs someone willing to help him feel safe. He might be hesitant at first—circling or rolling onto his back when approached—but his enthusiasm to please shines through.
Tonka is fixed, fully vaccinated, and healthy. He’s not for the faint of heart but is absolutely not a lost cause. He needs someone with the determination to push through his discomfort, the confidence to lead him, and the faith to know he can succeed.
I’m committed to supporting Tonka’s new family with training, whether daily, weekly, or as needed. This boy has so much love to give, and with the right person, he’ll flourish.
Are you ready to take a leap of faith and give Tonka the life he’s always deserved? If you think you’re the one to help him build confidence and conquer the world, please reach out. Like, share, and comment on this post to help us find Tonka his perfect match. Let’s give this sweet boy a chance to show what an incredible companion he can be.

A little bit about me:
Meet CRUX!
Crux is a stunning 5-year-old Siberian Husky mix with a wolf-like appearance and a heart full of love. Saved from the euthanasia list at the last minute, he’s now looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood.
This big, affectionate boy has a gentle soul and thrives on human companionship. He’s social, loves snuggles, and greets new people with a calm, friendly demeanor. Crux has done well with the dogs he’s met but needs continued socialization, especially on leash. He can get excited and bark when seeing other dogs on walks but has been great with those he’s properly introduced to. With the right guidance, he will continue to build confidence in new environments.
Crux is house-trained but benefits from frequent potty breaks, making a yard an ideal setup for him. He’s also learning leash manners and has made great progress walking calmly. He enjoys car rides (especially with the window down!), lounging in the sun, and being right by his person’s side.
Crux would thrive in a calm home with structure, patience, and adventure. He’d do best with someone who understands Huskies or working breeds and can provide him with the time and training he needs. He’s a big, goofy, loving dog who deserves a second chance at a happy life.
If you think Crux might be the perfect fit for your home, reach out to learn more about adopting or fostering him!

A little bit about me:
Meet Ike
Ike’s journey is one of resilience, transformation, and the undeniable power of love and trust. Originally rescued from a high-kill shelter in California Ike was brought to Canada where he had spent three years waiting for a home. With little human interaction or training during this time, he was become a less desirable dog by the day. Today, Ike is proving that he is far more than his past and is ready to show the world what he’s capable of with the right guidance.
We know Ike is not a dog for everyone, he’s for someone ready to embark on a journey of growth, patience, and incredible reward. While initially reserved and cautious around new people, you’ll see his curiosity peek through as he works up the courage to engage. A gentle sniff, a moment of observation. Each step forward with Ike is a victory that fills your heart.
He thrives with other dogs and uses them to build up his confidence.
Ike has made great strides in trusting the leash, a symbol of connection that once terrified him. Now, with consistent effort and love, he’s learning to embrace it as a pathway to new adventures. Ike loves going on pack walks with his fur friends as well as going on one-on-one walks with our volunteers.
The progress Ike has made in such a short time is remarkable. When I first brought him in he was reactive to the leash so we had to use a muzzle. Within days, I saw his behaviour shift, and since then, every walk and every training session has strengthened our bond. Ike is now a dog that anyone can walk once the leash is on. He still has moments of doubt and lives in uncertainty but his determination to move forward is awe-inspiring.
Ike is not just a dog; he’s an opportunity to build a relationship rooted in trust, respect, and love. For the right person, Ike will be the most rewarding companion. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort, you’ll find a dog who gives you everything he has, making every milestone in his journey feel extraordinary.
