About
Puca’s Pack is a volunteer run Not-For-Profit society.
At Puca’s Pack we strive to help you have a balanced relationship with your dogs based on mutual trust and respect. We're here to teach you how to communicate with your dog. Dogs thrive with proper communication and structure from their humans and their environments. Puca’s Pack is here to help you with that!
Our goal is to teach our clients how to build a strong relationship with their dogs so they have the best chance of success. We take pride in training Service Dogs, balancing Rescue animals and teaching you to communicate properly with your pets. We want nothing more than to save the lives of both animals and people. With proper communication, training, and patience we can all live in harmony.
OUR STORY
For as long as I can remember I have been enamoured by animals, especially dogs. I always dreamed I would have a rescue but never in my wildest dream did I think it would become a reality.
In the fall of 2019 I adopted 2 beautiful rescue dogs of my own. I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I thought obedience training was all that would be required, unfortunately one of my dogs, Stella, was dog reactive. I did my best to correct her when needed. We went on lots of walks with my neighbours and their dogs, but nothing seemed to help. Then the unthinkable happened, Stella bit another dog. What an emotional rollercoaster that was. Neighbours were trying to get her put down and hatred towards us and our dogs filled the air. No trainer in town would work with us because she was too big (120 lbs) or because she had a bite history, I was loosing hope. Then I decided to take matters into my own hands. If no one would work with me and my dog then there is obviously a niche that needs to be filled. I did my research and found that most if not all dog training and behaviourist programs were done online. There was no way I was going to learn how to rehabilitate human and dog aggressive dogs without having hands-on experiences.. After countless hours of searching I found The Great Canadian Dog Academy.
I spent 3 months completely immersed in dog psychology: I worked with clients and their dogs, I trained service and hunting dogs and best of all I got to train my own dogs. The progress we made was incredible. I would not have been able to have this successful of a turnaround if it weren’t for Dean and Ty Audet at the Great Canadian Dog Academy.
With my new found skills I decided to start my own rescue and training centre. I am confident with the knowledge and skills I’ve gained this past year to work with most if not all dogs.
We train our dogs as if they were our kids, we love our dogs as if they were people but they are dogs not humans. The difference is crucial when working with dogs with behaviour issues.
My Goal is to train people and rehabilitate dogs so we can all live Happy Healthy lives.
