TJ's Story

Potato

TJ the Blue Heeler was at one point in his life a Californian on shelter death row. He came to us through our partnership with Our Last Hope in Princeton .

TJ didn’t come alone though. Another heeler, Jackie, came with as they were both discovered with their deceased  owners in a house destroyed by the California Fires last year. A Bonded pair, or just way too co-dependant, these middle aged dogs had seen a fair bit of trauma which had caused a few issues.

TJ was very possessive over Jackie and much time was spent helping TJ become more balanced while being apart from Jackie, and trust and his anxiety behaviorisms. At the end of his stay, TJ was much more aware of his boundaries, our expectations of him. He would quietly lay with 8 dogs in our living room.

We will miss that fat ball of spots but he’s gone to his forever home on Vancouver Island where he can get lots of consolation over Jackie leaving him.

He’s awesome and living a great life.
